Disney Fires ‘Andi Mack’ Actor Stoney Westmoreland After Arrest for Planning Liaison with Minor

Disney has fired Andi Mack actor Stoney Westmoreland after he was arrested for allegedly arranging online to have sex with someone he believed to only be 13-years-old.

The 48-year-old actor – who played the grandfather on the Disney Channel show – was arrested on Friday (December 14) in Salt Lake City, Utah for investigation of enticing a minor by internet or text, a second-degree felony, and four counts of dealing in materials harmful to a minor, a third-degree felony, court documents state via KSL.

Stoney reportedly asked the person to engage in acts with him and to send him nude photos. The affidavit claims Stoney also sent pornographic photos.

“Stoney Westmoreland, an actor working on the series ‘Andi Mack,’ was arrested in Salt Lake City today. Given the nature of the charges and our responsibility for the welfare of employed minors,” Disney said in a statement. “We have released him from his recurring role and he will not be returning to work on the series which wraps production on its third season next week.”

Stoney
was arrested when he took a ride-sharing service to pick up the believe he believed to be a teen.

Disney Pledges One Million Dollars to Red Cross for Hurricane Harvey Relief Efforts

Robert A. Iger, chairman and chief executive officer of The Walt Disney Company, just announced that the company will be donating one million dollars to the American Red Cross to aid in the Hurricane Harvey relief efforts.

In addition, local ABC-owned TV affiliate KTRK in Houston has also pledged to help in the efforts. On Thursday (August 31), the Disney and ABC Television Group will host a Day of Giving to donate to the American Red Cross.

“Our hearts go out to everyone in the devastating path of this historic storm,” Robert said. “It’s hard to fully appreciate the impact, in part because it isn’t over yet. But we know thousands of people have lost everything and now face the daunting challenge of putting their lives and communities back together, and we’re using our unique resources and reach to help those in need.”

Disney will also be matching donations for their employees to the Red Cross or other qualified charities going towards to relief efforts.
